Wi Chen
Wi is a classically trained pianist, music arranger, and composer born in Taiwan. She began her musical journey with piano at the age of 4, inspired by her mother who is also a piano teacher.
Wi holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance with dual concentrations in Piano Perfor-
mance and Classical Composition from Tainan University of Technology in Taiwan. She has received multiple awards in piano performance competitions. In 2016, she moved to New York
City to pursue her Master's degree in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University,
where she subsequently won the 2017 NYU Film Scoring Competition.
As a pianist and composer, Wi has composed music for short films, documentaries, music videos, and concert pieces. Her background in classical and pop music, along with her experience in film scoring across various genres, has influenced her diverse teaching style.
With 7 years of teaching experience, she focuses on providing students with fun and creative ways to practice piano techniques and tackle difficult passages. She emphasizes developing a solid foundation of piano skills and expressive playing in her teaching.
