Shune Fu
Schune Fu is a composer, pianist, and educator from New York. Growing up in a musical household, Schune would be engrossed in his dad's guitar playing, but his own piano practice was a constant battle. Like many young musicians, he resisted the discipline, longing for the freedom of artistry. This experience, however, shaped his teaching philosophy. Schune believes in fostering a love of music through exploration and expression, allowing students to draw upon their own life experiences to create their own musical stories. His teaching revolves around fundamentals so that his students may get to the musicality and joy unhindered, ensuring that practice becomes a source of creativity and fulfillment.
Schune's own musical journey has led him to perform at Carnegie Hall four times, and his compositions have been presented at New York University and the Scandinavia House. A graduate of New York University, Schune is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with students of all ages and abilities. His goal is to create a nurturing and inspiring environment where students can discover the power of music, explore their own musical voices, and embark on a lifelong journey of musical exploration.
