James Pecore
A passionate piano teacher and pianist, James Pecore is a recent graduate of Columbia University with strong experience in music composition, arts administration, and piano performance. Pecore has five years of experience teaching piano lessons: both on a freelance basis in Portland, OR and New York, NY; and also recent experience as a piano instructor with Natalia Huang Piano Studios in Manhattan and Greenwich. Pecore believes in goal-oriented learning, developing well-rounded musicians from a young age onwards through daily practice and regular goal-setting. Open to all genres, James typically focuses his teaching towards Classical and Jazz, while still remaining open to teaching Pop, Musical Theatre, and other styles of music. Pecore also believes in musical health and sustainability, focusing on developing a student’s musical ability in a physically healthy way.
Outside of piano teaching, James Pecore has worked as a composer in residence with Slovenian new music ensemble Inštitut .abeceda, written theatre music with Broadway artists like Roe Hartrampf, and regularly collaborated with members of the GRAMMY-winning Attacca Quartet.
