Danny Zhang
Danny Zhang is a pianist that received education from prestigious musicians
in China as well as the United States. She was born in Liaoning, China. She had
her first music lesson when age of six. Danny continued her musical journey at the
elementary school of the conservatory of Shenyang as well as in the high school of
the conservatory of Shenyang. It was at the conservatory of Shenyang that Danny
finely honed her skills.
She was awarded two scholarships while under the tutelage of professor Zhe Li
and won prizes in her undergraduate such as Zhong Sin International Music Competition, Shenyang Division,First Prize on Etude Group and Second Prize on
Sonata and Bach Group; 8th Steinway & Son National Youth Piano Competition,
81st Steinway & Son International Youth Piano Competition, China Excellent
Award.
Danny was educated at Brooklyn College and studied with Beatrice Long. While studying at Brooklyn College, She won the Walter Cerf scholarship, the most prestigious that Brooklyn College offers.
Most recently, she won the first prize of the 2023 Los Angeles Golden Classical Music Award and performed in Walt Disney Hall for her winner’s concert in
July 2023. She also won the first prize of the New York Golden classical music
Award and will play at Carnegie Hall in December 2023.
