Meeree Kim started playing classical piano at age six and continued her musical journey throughout school years. After high school, she went to study at Seoul Jazz Academy, one of the most prestigious music institutions in South Korea.
With musical skills and knowledge gained from Seoul Jazz Academy, Meeree was accepted into Berklee College of Music as a Global Scholarship recipient. Upon graduation, she attended the master program in Jazz Studies at New York University. Throughout her college years, Meeree Kim had an impressive performing career alongside with musicians such as Stefon Harris, Donald Friedman, Alan Broadbent, Martin Wind, Alex Sipiagin, and Lenny White, the legendary drummer from Miles Davis groups.
Meeree soon realized that teaching and sharing her musical talents were one of the most satisfying and meaningful work she has ever experienced. She began to search for teaching opportunities. Soon after, she began teaching through the NYU Music Mentoring program and also served as adjunct faculty teaching undergraduate students. It is her goal “to be inspired by music and to inspire others with music.”
